Why has my acne gotten so bad after I stopped eating meat and dairy?
I haven't gotten an exactly "healthy" diet since, but I've gotten a fair amount of fruits and vegetables. I haven't been eating junk food all day. I thought quitting dairy would help my acne, but ever since I decided to NOT eat these things, my face has been the worst it's ever been. Should I start eating dairy again? I refuse to eat meat because I am a vegetarian. (I stopped eating meat and dairy about 3 or 4 weeks ago)

Coincidence. If your acne got worse when you started eating meat again, you'd ask why is it getting worse? My skin varies every month from super pimply to clear aside from some blackheads. Right now, my skin is clear. Tomorrow I might wake up with a pimple or two. Doesn't mean I'll blame being a vegetarian.

Hey, I am not going to go ahead and contribute your acne to removing these foods from your diet.. Especially dairy, the fats and oils in dairy are not going to help your skin any.. I am guessing it is new foods that you are eating more of that are affecting your skin, as you do admit your diet isn't "exactly 'healthy... More

You're probably missing zinc. It's easy to miss on a vegetarian diet, but quite plentiful in beef and some other meats. Also the Omega3s. Many vegetarians eat flax for Omega3s, but that's just the ALAs, not DHA. You probably need to supplement (pills). In fact, you probably need to go the VeganHealth.org site and take... More

Your skin is just oily... wash your face more often, drink lots of water everyday.. and try to stick to vegetables...dairy products are good for health...they give you nutrients that u miss out in eating meat.

Hi Daniella, I am assuming that you are female by your name. The person that suggested coincidence is most likely correct; however, I am a female and have been vegan for over 17 years but, this had no affect on my acne as neither did chocolate, digestion or special face wash. Though, going vegan cleared up my lifelong... More

I am guessing you are a girl. Many girls get acne during PMS or menstruation (taking birth control pills helps). This, paired with perhaps some minor deficiencies, could be your problem. You should make sure you take supplements and get your fix of both dark leafy greens and dark, antioxidant rich fruits.

perhaps because you cut out so much fat and stuff your body kinda went into a hormonal imbalance and started making you face more oily then normal. it should clear up soon :)

What your'e going thru is part of the Detoxification process while you're changing your eating habits. I know why. Like others said its detox. Your lymph system is now in over drive now that is not being bogged down by hard to digest foods. Your body has a waste system and there are many ways your body gets rid of waste and skin is one of them. You should consider doing a type of cleanse for the digestive system that... More

Maybe this is a sign of the toxins leaving your body en masse.
