What should I say after applying for a job?

I'm 20 years old and I'm a little embarassed to admit that I've never had a real job before. So I just applied for a job at a resturant called Cosi and asked the manager when I should call. She told me to call in a few days and ask for Sarah who's in charge of hiring. What should I say when I call so I don't sound like an idiot? Thanks in advance!

don't up...and in the restaurant business, you need to show up after the lunch crowd has left and BEFORE dinner service starts...otherwise, this really annoys's best not to call, most managers won't take you seriously...just show up in some nice slacks and a collared shirt... good luck

I would say something along the lines of, "Hi, my name is (your name), I filled out an application the other day and was told to contact you. I was wondering if you had a chance to look over my application?"

Say "Hello, may I speak with Sarah in personnel?"

"And If you don't hire me, I'll be stalking you and your family for the next year. So think carefully."
