what all would i have to do if i wanted to put a 454 big block in my 1989 chevy caprice.it now has a 4.3 in it?
its my toy car. i want to put 22-24 inch rims on it and lower it.. restore it etc. i want to make it into an SS as much as possible... or would it be better to buy a good 350? and would my 350r transmission bolt up to a 454? would i have to change out the springs, transmission, and rear end?

The 454 would bolt up your 350thm transmission, but you may have to deal with hood clearance and suspension issues, as well as do some custom fabrication. everything you mentioned and more it s a lot of work and some fabrication too and theTH 350 will not bolt to the big block you will need a turbo400 i would go 350/350 if you have to have the v8 its still a good amount of work but not as bad as the BB good luck
