Finding work without a high school diploma.?

My dad has worked at a welding company for 19 years (he makes tractor trailers). Since he has been working their for so long his back is shot, and he is having problems with his legs. So his welding career wont be lasting much longer. Anyway, the problem is he never graduated high school so he is not qualified for most jobs, based on the fact that he dosnt have a high school diploma. So what jobs could he get without needing a high school diploma ? Thanks :) He's tried having his own business, it never picked up.
