Do you play the guitar and care about American jobs?

If you only rely on the New York Times or the mainstream media or that foaming-at-the-mouth Chris Matthews, then you probably didn't hear about how some armed federal agents raided the Gibson Guitar facilities in Nashville and Memphis, making off with $ 1 Million in wood inventory purchased from countries like India and Madagascar. Gibson's ALLEGED crime was that they were using imported wood from the endangered species list and that the wood was being finished by American workers, not foreign workers. The fact that Gibson had documentation for their wood supplies was irrelevant to the U.S. government. Apparently, the U.S. government is now an expert in interpreting other countries laws and is alleging that Gibson Guitar Corp. is in violation of other countries' laws, even though those countries and Gibson Guitar contend that no laws have been violated in the purchase of this wood. From what I've read, if you own a guitar that has parts from the endangered species list, such as an ebony fretboard or an ivory nut or a rosewood body, then you better not travel with it because it's conceivable that your fine instrument may be seized by a customs agent! I will provide links below if anyone is interested to read more about this outrage. President Obama will go on TV Thursday night to say how much he cares about American jobs. Meanwhile, an iconic American company like Gibson finds itself harassed by our federal government, which oftentimes IGNORES our constitution but in this case, feels compelled to interpret and enforce the laws of India and Madagascar, countries that never claimed to have their laws violated in the first place!! How is it that armed federal goons can raid an AMERICAN company that provides jobs to hundreds of AMERICAN CITIZENS and those very same AMERICANS are now without jobs, yet very few people have even heard about this!!! Also, how is it that Attorney General Eric Holder has the time and resources to go after the Gibson Guitar Corporation, yet has no knowledge of what went down in "Operation Fast and Furious" where thousands of American assault weapons found their way into Mexico? This Gibson Guitar scandal may also have something to do with the fact that Gibson is a non-union company and some of its competitors are unionized...I'm not 100% sure but it certainly would explain why no one's raiding C.F. Martin Guitars.... My question: Do you have to be a Conservative or a Tea Party member to be angry about stuff like this? If you voted for Obama, are you OK with this type of harassment of private businesses and private citizens? Doesn't Paul McCartney play a Gibson? I wonder what he thinks of Obama now? He made no secret of what he thought about GW Bush (it was then that I deleted his songs from my mp3 player). http://www.thenewamerican.com/tech-mainmenu-30/environment/8780-feds-raid-gibson-guitar-to-save-endangered-foreign-trees http://www.gibson.com/en-us/Lifestyle/News/gibson-0825-2011/ http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2011/09/02/gibson-feds-want-guitar-woodwork-done-by-foreign-labor/
