How do plasma centers avoid having to change gloves between patients?

I spent my summer donating plasma while I unsuccessfully looked for a job. Every time, they always just kept the same gloves on regardless of whether they were working with new people or changing equipment or even running those first tests with the finger prick. So again I ask, when people in the food industry seem to have stricter laws regarding handwashing and gloves (although they might not follow them), and hospitals have to change gloves between people, what exempts plasma centers? Or maybe they have their own law? My google results only turned up that it happens in states besides Colorado.
