How can I make a picture a bigger size without loosing quality?

I have a picture that is 450 x 308 and I have a Apple Mac which the screen size is 1920 x 1080. I have been trying to set the picture so I can have it as a desktop picture with out all the blurry / fuzzy / pixel stuff going on and can't sort it out. Also I don't want to download any programs or software. Can anybody please help as it is becoming kind of frustrating

Try cropping your image first in the same proportion as your screen, it's nearly two by one

You have a mac so it will recognise the file type. Never save photos as a .Jpeg, save them as a .TIF file. This is a big file size and won't lose an quality when enlarged.

Sorry but this is impossible. If the file is only 400 pixel and my macbook screen is 1200 then it WILL HAVE to be pixelated in order to fit. That's like asking how to make $1 bill into a $5 bill.
