Do the wealthy carry the working class, or does the working class carry the wealthy?

If EVERY single last worker quit their jobs and started working for themselves and began to barter and trade with their neighbors, they would still survive. What an a large business owner do if he/she is left without a single worker? What can a large business owner do if he/she is left without a single worker?
