Why do so many look to the Federal Government to fulfill their desires?

Freedom and Individual Liberty carry with it a certain amount of personal responsibility. Yet, they expect others to provide for their Healthcare, Education, Jobs, housing, "success" etc etc.......happiness. Are they just not willing to accept the personal responsibility, or are they not able to?

The government has slowly taken people over, if you fall on hard times just let the government support you. Self worth and self responsibility are gone with many people.
