How to Respond when I'm angry?

This one boy at my school always makes mean comments . Like he'll say all black people get mad and have attitide problems. All blacks are ghetto and have names like Laquifa and shaquitoquto. All blacks live in the hood and are racist and uneducated and dirty and are drug dealers and we steal.Black people have 72 babymamas and no daddy. And he says the n word all the time. I dont say anything even though I get upset because then it'll just prove to him that black people are mad all the time and have attitudes and think everyone is racist and are too sensitive about their race. I dont even live in the hood! I live in a middle class neighborhood with my mom and dad. My mom works for the city and my dad works for a life insurance company. All my life I have been taught the n word is bad and you should'nt say it and it does hurt when he calls me that. But I dont want to come off as some person who is sensitive and get him in trouble then he would really dislike black people. Its hard because my grandma says Im representing the whole race where ever I go so I have to always act a certain way and be good so people wont think certain things about us. What should I do?

You don't need to respond to every mean person in the world, just ignore him. Chances are if you said something he wouldnt change.

Ignore him. He may be ignorant and racist, but we have freedom of speech in this country. Objecting to someone else voicing their opinion is like saying you don't believe in that. If he were physically aggressive or had some influence over your life in other ways, that would be wrong. As it is, he's just letting the... More
