Does an armed security guard make more money than unarmed guard?
I'm wondering if its worth the $280 for the armed guard. I asked the staff who does the training they said it makes a big pay difference but they're the staff of course they're going to say it's worth the money.

Generally armed guards make more money then unarmed guards, of the same company. Pay varies company to company where an unarmed guard may make much more then an armed guard of another company. Overall I would think the 280 dollar investment to get the armed guard certifications is worth it because it does open up more... More

Generally armed guards make slightly more, because the talent pool of potential candidates is smaller. But if you want a real value added credential, any and all first aid training up to and including EMT certification can really make a difference for many security jobs. Good luck!
