How to deal with bad costars?

I'm playing Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors, and I'm so happy about it. However, I'm having to work with stuck up, whimpy, whiny costars. Especially our Seymour, who refuses to listen to anyone and thinks he's perfect, when in all true reality, he isn't. He also really loves to cause drama among the group (no pun intended). My director always says it's my job to handle it, because I'm older, then I have others who say it's not my place (which I wholeheartedly agree with). How do I handle bad costars who just cause drama among the cast?
