Have you read Gregor the Overlander series?? Those were like my favorite books of all time when I was 13, and they fit in with your taste in books. :-)

You should try The Inheritance Series (Eragon, Eldest, and Brisingr) by Christopher Paolini. I have read a few of the series listed above and I must say that these books are excellent.

I read the Abhorsen trilogy and His Dark Materials trilogy when I was around your age and still love them. The Artemis Fowl books are good too, and Diane Duane's Young Wizards series.

I read the Heir series when I was that age and I don't know how you feel about suspense but The Maze Runner is also a good one!
