How do I answer an interesting job offer email?

Interestingly, the human resource manger only mention the date & time for interview, but she didn't mention the interview is for what kind of position. My background is a programmer, should I assuming that I am hired for a programmer job and just for for the interview? If you think I need to ask the HR manager for additional info about the position the company is offering, how do I politely ask her this question? Thanks!
