would the military use their own personnel to protect someone of extreme importance?
like if there was someone very powerful, rich and/or extremely important that was needed somewhere but couldn't get there without armed escort would they use military personnel to get him or something like contractors or a security company?

The military performs VIP escort missions all the time. Although it usually isn't so much because they're "rich and powerful" and more because they are mission essential. If the military needed to get someone somewhere, they would protect them. Delta and dev group have provided protection for US government employees on occassion.

They could use special forces(that's more of a Delta Force job) or military contractors could take up the assignment through the U.S. govt
