Can people with High Functioning Autism can do what normal people could do?

Like get a girlfriend, get married, drive a car, or get a high paying career. Cause I have high functioning autism and I wanna do these things, so I can have a much better life. Can you give me suggestions?

Well first of all, high functioning autism can be quite disabling (remembering that high functioning is different to mild). I think you sure can! You can overcome many behaviors and learn social skills as best as you can. It is a lot easier for people with high functioning autism or Asperger's to live close to normal lives. Their still may be challenges , but nothing is out of reach.

I feel the politically correct answer would be yes, but that is not what I have experienced. I do drive and I have a good paying job but I have never had a girlfriend or been married. I have autism, and I am married, drive a car, and I do well for myself financially. It is not easy, as you know, and I make plenty of social errors, but every person is different.
