How can a name be ghetto? When ghetto was not used to describe a name. but a place?

I don't understand why people say "I hate ghetto names" when ghetto was not a word for describing a time of name. What do you all think? ghetto (n.) A section of a city occupied by a minority group who live there especially because of social, economic, or legal pressure. ghetto (n.) An often walled quarter in a European city to which Jews were restricted beginning in the Middle Ages. ghetto (n.) Something that resembles the restriction or isolation of a city ghetto:“trapped in ethnic or pink-collar managerial job ghettoes” (Diane Weathers) Source(s): Geovani yes I am half black. And sorry everyone these definitions came up the quickest

I don't know! I really don't understand how a name can be ghetto. A ghetto is a place. But now, (especially to Americans)....Ghetto is synonymous with black (the race). I'm not sure why. You really can't act "ghetto" or anything. It's just plain stupidity.

But now it's used to refer to the inner city where the lower-class, or poor... More
