A male ultrasound technician?

I am a 17 year old male interested in becoming an ultrasound technician. My question is, would it be awkward for a male to give ultrasounds? this is not the bottom line of my decision, but I'm curious to see how people feel about it as it seems like a job that is typically filled by women.

I would have no problem having a male do my ultrasound. I have had ultrasounds when I was pregnant and also when I had blood clots. I did have women both times but what's the difference of having a male doctor when your female. That happens all the time.
