How does the whole shipping process work?

When I order things online from stores like for example. Forever21 or Vans etc. I always wonder how it works, do they have a bunch of people in a factory or something. Is it really difficult to do that job? I know I sound kind of stupid right now, I just don't know how to explain the question that well. I just want to know the whole process of shipping orders.

Your order is received and then after processing shipped from the contracted shipper. normallyer sends your item out. whatever company you choose will never see the item. Pay is poor and a very difficult job. You will not have this type of job in the United States. Not a stupid question at all.
