Can I apply for Unemployment Insurance? (Calgary)I've been working for a large sized body shop for about 10mth?

After about 3 weeks the manager at the time had told me how he saw potential in me and would see if I could try and be an estimator/appraiser. Well he quit the next week. I never got compensated for my estimating course, nor had a different job title. Anyhow. 2 months in with the new guy, he did the same thing, except he got me to Learn how to polish/show quality detail. Eventually I would go into prep then paint. What got me in this time was he promised me a wage increase, however I was forced (literally) to work over 55+ hours a week, mon-sat. As soon as his 3 months hit he was fired, still the same hours. At that time the production manager told me to go under his wing and he'd "take me places". So, with a lot attendants wage, I became his "unofficial assistant" which in a nutshell, Meant I did half his work, plus my own. Id take over when he took time off (accumulated it was 2 months, keep in mind he had started 2 months after I had). Eventually the third manager came along and offered me to be officially "assistant production manager" which meant I would make at least 5 bucks more an hour. I was estatic! all that hard work, doing his job, and even letting it slide that he'd call me his b***h all the time, finally paid off. Believe me this guy wasn't the easiest to work for. So he proposed this idea to my boss. He shut it down, saying that he thought I wasnt nearly ready, but that I was almost there. So he gave me 3 new job details. One was to coordinate sub trades, to be incharge of quality control and vehicle delivery, and last was to be front end superviser (for parts department and detail), while keeping the same wage. then the general manager was fired. Well he got the feeling that I was a threat, so he went to the newest general manager and had me demoted back to lot and detail. He makes an example/acts condescending every day, and it really lowers my self esteem. I just wanna go back to school. Am I qualified for? I live in Calgary, Alberta. Help..
