Is this appropriate to say in a cover letter?
I'm writing a cover letter for an administrative assistant/receptionist job, unfortunately I don't have much experience in this area.. so is it appropriate to say in the cover letter that "even though I don't have much experience in this area, but I am a quick learner and I am passionate" etc etc? Or should I just avoid mentioning that fact at all?? Thanks!

Don't point out your own negatives. Just leave out that 1st part. You want to give the employer reasons to consider hiring you, not bring up reasons you may not be the right person for the job.
