iam sure this is a scam but iam not sure of how they were ever going to do it i placed a ad in my local paper to sell my motorcycle within 1 day i recieved a email just looking at it told me theres a scam somewhere here but anyway i told them i cannot use paypal due to the chargeback risk and asked if they could use google or moneybrookers well after 8 hrs i have heard nothing the strange thing was the first contact was through a text message asking more details and how low would i drop my price number was from +18454811438 here is the email marypatterson007@yahoo.com Hello , Thanks for your response. I satisfied with the bike and want to purchase it from you at the said amount. I am a US army Medic currently deployed with the 10th Mountain Division serving in provinces of Wardak and Logar in Regional Command East Afghanistan and out here it is difficult accessing a phone regularly due to the nature of my profession and I’m getting this bike for my partner. I will not be able to come for inspection, hence will arrange for pick up and delivery of the bike to Malaysia and all paper work regarding the purchase of the bike will be handled by the pick up agent on my behalf as they posses the power of attorney to do so, after i have made purchase. I would be happy if you could send me one or two more photos of the bike and will also need your word as a guaranty that the condition of the bike is as described online. I am gladly going to make payment to you via pay pal and all i require to effect payment to you is your pay pal name and pay pal email id (email address associated with your pay pal account). I am aware of the very rampant problems in the pay pal world of nowadays but i want you to understand that pay pal is a secure way to pay online without sharing your financial information’s with the recipient. Pay pal is free when paying for domestic purchases. Pay pal is America and the world most secure and favourite way to pay online compared to other online payment system and individual credit card brands. I run a Pay pal Premier Account and it's 100% safe for making payments, verified, well monitored and different from the regular pay pal account which is very common and pruned to problems such as scam. I hope me little explanation will help if you are not familiar with Pay pal and you will not mind getting an account will pay pal. It is safe reliable and easy to use, just visit www.paypal.com to register and create an account with them. After wards you link your pay pal to your bank account so that you can move funds paid to via pay pal from your pay pal account to your bank account in order for you to cash your money. Do get back to me soon as i wait to from you, many thanks. Best Regards Mary

If you look at their profile, it is probably a brand new profile created in the last day or two. They say that because they are overseas... More

If you're in the US it's strange that you would get a text from a number starting with +1. Area code 845 is in New York state, but the text message may have been sent through a web site that fakes the originating number. Why would a soldier in Afghanistan be buying a motorcycle for someone in Malaysia, that makes no... More

This is a scam. Send the email to spoof@ebay.com (along with the full headers if you can) and I would call ebay and tell them you received an offer from a scammer. You can also set up a free account at http://www.spamcop.net/ and send the email along with the full headers through their website.
