How much do astrophysicists make, and are there enough jobs out there?

and are their jobs out their for them? I hear there's not too many jobs for astrophysicists, and I'm worried that if i do become one, that I will never find a job.

Depending on your education and where you work, I'm an Astrophysicist and Cosmologist, I make $250k (NZD) a year but I'm an contractor and director of my department. I'm not sure if there is a separate job called astrophysisict, the only astrophysicists I know are attached to a university and spend 1/3 of their time lecturing to students, 1/3 of their time in research and 1/3 of their time on administration.
