How can United States citizens make it illegal to have politicians use insider trading to become rich?

They make the laws & head committees that give them (if a normal citizen acted in this way - 30yrs in prison) knowledge that makes them privy to how stocks will be effected by their laws & go home and buy/sell accordingly. How do we let these thieves stuff free money in their coffers while watching their constituents get in line at the food bank?
