How do I get a job in a mental health field?

I'm in the 8th grade and we are researching careers. I decided I wanted to research jobs in asylums.(I'm not sure if there still called this). What jobs are their and what kind of college path would I need to take? Are there any pros and cons? If so what are they? Please and thank you:)

If you work hard enough, and you get good grades and have decent test scores, I would recommend going to medical school and being a psychiatrist. These are the doctors that run the mental health facilities. As a psychiatrist, you will work with mentally ill patients to get their medicine right, to get them well again... More
