500 Calories a day diet?

Okay. So I went food shopping today, and I bought the following: -2 select harvest newengland clam chowder soup things -2 Berry Special K cereal boxes -2 things of lobster bisque (not sure of the brands) -6 Nature Valley Bars -3 Pkgs of Uncle Ben's Rice Pilaf -Some Grapes* -Banana Peppers (If you don't know they are really spicy peppers)* *"SafeFoods" Basically, I have given myself a limited amount of food for the next 14 days. Everything but the safe foods I have added up the calories, and the total came to 6940 calories. Then, I divided that number by 14, and got around 500 calories a day. That number does not include water and the safe foods, marked with an asterisk. I am allowing myself as many of the safe foods as I want. I think I have balanced the diet with enough protein, carbs, fibers, and fruits/veggies, to make it healthy. Having a limited amount of food, as opposed to adding up the calories, I think will be much easier. So, If I excercise and work really hard at it, will it work out okay? so maybe if I have 1000 cals a day for a week instead of 500 over 2 weeks? A thousand seems a little much though to burn off...

No, you need 2 thousand calories a day to live. You are going to slowly starve yourself to death and cause serious health issues with your body if you eat 500 cals a day. You have an eating disorder.

WAY too little calories!! Girls need at least 1200 calories a day and boys 1500. That is without exericising!

You might melt all the muscle on your body and even have worse stuff happen to you on a 500 calorie diet. Your safe foods do not provide you with the nutrition you need to sustain life. Do not do this. A safe diet has at least 1200 calories and must be meticulously prepared to include all the needed nutrients. You will... More

YOU ARE PUTTING YOURSELF ON A STARVATION DIET!!! this is where you eat way to little calorie and your body reacts by burning muscle not fat! My friend did a diet just like this and she GAINED wieght. This is a very bad idea.

Multiply 13 with your current weight and those numbers is what you need to eat per day. Don't forget to exercise smartly, by not overdoing yourself and not challenging yourself

NO you are not feeding your body enough calories to live. Remember you eat to live and to have energy. I recommend the fewest calories you should eat is at LEAST 1,200. No less than that. If you eat 500 calories a day, you won't even have enough energy to work out. Besides, eating few calories a day prevents you from... More

Leafy green vegetables are a must for low calorie diets. Many people believe fasting/ 500 calorie diet cleans the body and beneficial. But they would eat high quality nutrition. Fresh vegetable juice, and dietary supplemants to get vitamins and minerals.

Losing weight means taking in less calories than your body uses up. As long as the 'in go' is less than the 'out go' of calories, you will surely lose weight. Instead of thinking about limiting the incoming calories, why not concentrate on increasing the amount of calories your body uses? Run, go join a gym, or just... More
