Why is everyone complaining about the rejection the Keystone Pipeline?

After I research on the issue and I supported the rejection. The people are complaining that it would bring in jobs which it could but it only temporary. Has everyone consider what damage it could do if it spill? Millions of american water supply could be at risk. I would rather pay for higher gas then my water fill with oil
