What job matches with what I want to do?

I would like a job in criminal justice. But, I do not want to be involved with shooting or anything personally dangerous(do you blame me?). I do want to investigate though. I would like to interrogate suspects, put together clues, interview witnesses, background checks, etc. But i don't want to be out in the field. Is there any job like the one I want? Please, any help would be appreciated.
