Moving to Saint Louis, MO. What do you like/dislike about it?

I'm soon to be moving to be with my boyfriend who moved to St. Louis last year. It won't be until mid-late July so I'm planning ahead of time. I want to finish my 2 years left for my degree in IT so I'll probably have to take out loans. Also, I mainly have exp working as an Admin Assistant, so my skills are limited at this time. I'm learning more about databases in my spare time so hopefully I can get my foot in the door. What are some good schools in the St. Louis County that have good IT programs? Where are some safe, dog friendly and inexpensive places to live in that area? I will be living alone. I'd like to live by a park preferably and around people in their late 20's-30's. We're both 28. What do you like/dislike about St. Louis? Thanks! I'm moving from Dallas. Also, how is the IT industry in St. Louis?
