What's wrong with having an American-led effort to colonize the moon, if we can bring home valuable goods?

It would at least create American jobs and stimulate our economy, and would also overturn Obama's space policy, which has basically been to turn over NASA to international efforts and "outsourcing" our space program. Our space program should be American and if we can colonize or extract resources from the moon, maybe we should.

The Delta Force has had a base there for over 15 years now. Disney will have its first resort there in less than 10 years.

It may sound good, but it is just a quicker way to bankrupt the country. You could not possibly make a profit trying to bring valuable ore back from the moon. It cost billions to bring back a few rocks essentially worth nothing except as souvenirs.
