best towns to live in maine?

Hello... I'm currently a CNAeventually starting nursing school once my husband gets out of the marines. (I don't want to keep having to take exams in eavh state we go to). Anyway, I was looking into moving to new hampshire to complete my education and start work as an RN..but I saw that the state is actually pretty expensive to live in. (Maybe it was the area I was searching, not sure). But we really liked maine as well but I'm not too familiar with the towns. We both really enjoy small towns but since I would like to persue a nursing career, I would need to be within reasonable distance to a city with a hospital..and my husband would like to get a career as a state trooper or border patrol. We will also be renting since we don't want to buy a house at the moment. If anyone could tell me some towns that would be great for both our careers and are not so expensive to rent either a townhome or apartment it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
