Nvidia Graphics Card Driver Failed?

I had a 550ti and every now (rarely) the screen will go black and and then come back on in a few seconds with an error message saying something like "Nvidia Kernal Driver v.285.66 has Failed and Recoverd" or " Nvidia Graphics Driver v285.66 has Failed and Recovered." For Christmas i got a 560ti and it is doing the same thing so i know its not my graphics card failing. I also keep my Graphics Card drivers up to date. The weird thing is that it never happens when the card is under stress. Its always when I'm at the desktop using an internet browser or photoshop/other windowed applications, never in a game has it failed. I built my own computer ~ -1TB HDD & 2TB HDD -CD/DVD Drive -i7 2600 -MSI P67A-G43 (B3) LGA 1155 Intel P67 - mobo -PSU is a Cooler Master (i know terrible brand) 650W or 750W cant remember -ZALMAN CNPS9900ALED heatsink -I have a nice airy case with 4 of 5 fans inside for airflow (AZZA Solano 1000 Black/Black Japanese SECC Steel/Metal mesh in front ATX Full Tower Computer Case) -Running windows 7 ultimate 64bit. Core temps run anywhere between 30C-45C and Graphics Card sits around 35C. I'm thinking it must be something to do with my bad choice of reliable PSU but i just wanted to know of any other possibilities that could be causing my problem.

As likewise said, COOLERMASTER PSU's are not a bad brand, they are not the greatest BUT still gets the job done, I even have friends who uses this brand and they never encountered any problems... More

Cooler Master is not a bad brand. They're not the greatest, but they're not bad, and 650w or more is way more than enough to run that thing. You know what the cause could be? A BAD VIDEO CARD. If you've uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers and done other cleanup/troubleshooting measures, what's left but that?

Try downloading the newest one from NVidia Directly, don't ever use experimental drivers for a strong computer like that. Download the ones from NVidia, put it on your desktop, then remove your current ones using Control Panel, then install the new ones. :)

Depending on which cooler master psu you bought, yes it is. I recommend you buy a Seasonic X650, best brand for power supplies. But I don't think that is your problem. Try using Nvidia's Beta driver.

Uninstall drivers completely and clean registry, than install drivers from safe mode. If this won't help, than re-install Windows. This is not the hardware problem, all is OK with your videocard, this is the problem of OS and software.
