After 10 years since studying Sports, could I still become a Fitness Instructor?

	After 10 years since studying Sports, could I still become a Fitness Instructor? When I complete College, I will specialize in Fitness/Sports Instructing but I am planning to join the French Foreign Legion or RAF Regiment. After 10 years or so returning to Civvie life, could I get my 1st job as a fitness instructor!?! Or would I be slapped in the face because I have not studied it for 10 years. How important is university/college in the real world?
