What's a good job for someone who is smart but hates school?

Lots of people are intelligent but don't get on particularly well in school. I have a fairly high IQ, and I like learning things on my own, but I just don't like the academic environment. Unfortunately, so many jobs require degrees nowadays. Maybe we can brainstorm some ideas? We're looking for jobs that require intelligence, but no degree.
