How much work will I miss from having my gallbladder removed?

I work at Pepsi as a route driver, I hand unload and deliver on average 600 cases of product everyday, this also including merchandising product at some stores, it's a very labor intensive job. My short term disability pay is only $250 a week .. So how much work can I expect to miss?

Expect to miss 1 to 2 weeks if you are having laparoscopic gallbladder surgery. If it is open surgery then expect 4 to 6 weeks. You will not be able to lift, push or pull anything heavier than a gallon of milk for at least 4 weeks to make sure everything is properly healed inside. I just had my gallbladder removed via... More

My gall bladder was removed on a Monday and I was released on a Tuesday afternoon. No pain, no discomfort. You will have to ask the doctor about lifting however. Laproscopic surgery is what I had. The surgeon will decide what's best. Good Luck
