Hey Alejo, I know your pain and I love your drive. Below are info about the GED in Miami.
What is the GED?
The General Education Development (GED) test is also referred to as the High School equivalency test. Students take the GED test to demonstrate mastery of Math, Science, Social Studies, Reading and Writing. Upon successful completion of the GED test, a candidate is awarded a State of Florida high school diploma and is considered a high school graduate.
Where can I take the exam?
You can take the exam in one of the three Miami-Dade County Public Schools sites where the test is offered.
What is the cost of the test?
All candidates need to pay a test fee of $70.00.
What will my diploma say?
Your diploma will have the words "State of Florida" and "High School Diploma" on it. It is just as valid as the diplomas given at any state high school.
What do I need to do before I start taking classes?
You must complete the Test for Adult Basic Education (TABE). There is a one-time fee of $10 for taking the TABE.
Bring a copy of your results to the Continuing Education office at the campus you wish to attend. An advisor will review your results with you.
Bring your Social Security card and a Florida State ID or driver's license.
You will need to secure a student ID number through a campus Student Center.
You will need to pay the tuition fee.
The GED advisor will assist you with the process of completing your course section and registration forms.
Bring these forms to Registration Office where you will be given a class schedule.
