Would it be easy for a Canadian Nurse to get a job in the US?

I'm 18 and I'm planning on becoming a Nurse (RN). I'm a Canadian Citizen and would like to move to the states after I get my degree. What would I have to do to legally get a job in the US? Also, how do the work permits, visas, etc. work? Would I have to contact an employer in the states and have them sponsor me or something? How long does the process usually take?

There are no nurse visas anymore. You would not be eligible to work in the US. If you get an MSN in some rare specialty, and if a hospital is willing and able to spend a small fortune getting you a visa, then maybe you have a chance at a different kind of temporary employment visa. As a Canadian you can apply for a TN visa to work in the US.First you must contact the BON in the state that you want to work in and apply for a license.If you meet their requirements and pass the NCLEX you will be granted a license.Once you have a license you can apply for a work permit.Then you can start looking for...
