Is it ok to walk into a store that hasn't advertised job availability and ask?

I want to work in the bakery department at Giant Eagle, but I've been watching for months, and I haven't seen either of the entry-level positions I want open up at the two locations near me. I'm 18, this would be my first job and I don't know the how people would normally go about it, or if it's realistic to try and get a job there like that. Please help :) Thanks

Absolutely. I have done this before and it sometimes works. Make yourself presentable, be polite and ask to speak with a manager. Yes and you just might land a job that exact minute. As a teen I stopped in to ask and someone had quit not 30 min. earlier. Got the job. Being in the right place at the right time works
