What is the basic difference between muslim Shias and Sunnis?

difference is in leaership of Islam after prophet (Imamat). Shias believe that the first Khlifa (successer of the prophet) should have been Ali, whereas Sunnis believe that Abu Bakr should be the first, while Ali the fourth.
