if you have a conviction and are awaiting on a few cases, would i still be able to become a youth worker?

I got convicted of a serious crime in 2010 and i went to prison for 4-5 months and i now have three awaiting cases to be dealt with. Will this allow me to become a youth worker or will i not be able to? Please help because i am on a course at the moment which is going to get me an apprenticeship in youth work.

No, you will never get through the enhanced CRB check needed to work with young people.

Sure, but you will have to wait until you are sentenced to prison for the other three cases. While in prison you can tell the other young convicts what a jackass you are for not learning the first time you were sent to prison. You need to clean up your act. Prison is no place to spend your life.

Many places that employ youth workers are losing funding so it's going to be very competitive and it's likely that those with a clean record would be more employable than" Release "and ask them for advice as you deserve a second chance
