Travel Income and Travel Expenses on Profit & Loss?
Can you charge clients a travel charge (ie "trip charge) and also deduct the mileage or gas expenses on your income statement? I work from my clients offices so there is a lot of travel involved in my job.

if you charge the client travel you certainly can claim travel expenses on your Sch C if you are driving from home to where you work this is commuting and NOT deductible, the travel from the first job to subsequent ones is deductible

You can charge the client anything you want--it's all considered revenue to the business. As for deducting mileage or actual vehicle expenses, unless you travel to multiple clients in one day, the IRS will classify it all as commuting and that would be non-deductible.
