what do people in remote inuit villages do for a living?

I caught a glimpse of the alaska troopers show & they flew into this isolated village on an island 2 miles across the straight from Russia. It looks like these people live in the north pole. What do they do for a living? They live in houses with electricity, clothes, a school, guns, snowmobiles, etc., how do they pay for it? I can't think of one single possible thing these people might do for a living.
