Are you suppose to get the job same day as having a job interview?

I just got back home from my job interview at Famous Dave's for a hostess job. I think I did well but my question is do jobs most of the time hire you on the spot the same time you have an interview or is that what is suppose to happen?

It depends on the job, the person doing the interview, and company policy. I can't tell you for sure in this case. Most restaurant or retail jobs offer you the job at the end of the interview if they want to hire you. A background check is then done prior to the start of employment. If the interviewer said that they would call, it usually means you were not successful. You should continue on with your job search.

Do you really want a job? Doesn't matter, Life sucks. Slave away your entire life paying bills. Even if you manage to pay off all your debts, you still have to pay taxes till you die, which means you need income always till you die. Life is pointless. Jesus died at 33, he was smart. Life after college just sucks.

It just depends. Sometimes they need you to start right away and sometimes they give you a start date later on in the future. That is something that you need to discuss with the employer. Good luck!
