What to pay an electrician friend fo side job?

We are having a friend do a side job for us. We are going to put our flat screen above our fireplace. Our friend is going to run all the electricial from the living room to the basement plus add a couple of outlets. We are buying all of the material. I am not sure how long it would much should i give him?

If the basement is just below the living room and he is going through walls and floors in order to correctly wire your new and/or existing circuit breakers he has a good deal of work in front of him. If he is a friend and the job doesn't take more than an evening (assume he isn't doing this during work hours), then buy him a nice bottle of liquor (if he drinks). If it takes longer, just throw him $100. It would probably cost $300+ for this work, so $100 is a nice discount.
