What are some basic steps to get a job in the gaming industry?

Hi, im 14 i really love play FPS action games like the COD franchise. i was wondering what i need to know and what classes or internships i should take. Im a freshmen in high school. I would like to be a programmer for fps games. What are some basic languages i need to know? When should i apply for an internship? What courses or classes should/can i take over summer? I really need some advice on how to take the first step.

Plan on taking programming classes and attending college for a Computer Science / Computer Engineering degree. It's not required, but college graduates are typically preferred over candidates without a degree. Internships are rare to come by, so don't put too much hopes into that... More
