	Thinking of working at best buy? I'm a 16 year old, and one of my job choices would be to try to get a job at best buy. But I'm not even sure if they do hire 16 year olds? And if I were hired, what position would I most likely work? Thanks Asked By: Mike T - 4/27/2012

I checked the website and it stated must be a least 16 years old; however, you still need to check if you have not already done what are your state labor laws i.e. working papers or permit and hours you can work during school session and summer. Below are comments from people who interviewed at Best Buy, still in school, providing info on the interview plus interview questions. Sales Associate at Best Buy- Posted Apr 23, 2012-Received and Accepted Offer Interviewed Apr 2012 (took 3 days) I'm only speculating right now since I still have yet to do the 3rd interview with GM, but I will tell what I have experienced so far. I applied online for the cashier position, yet when I received the phone call from HR, she told me that they were hiring for a multi-channel sales associate. That was interview #1, which I didn't realize. Interview #2 was the longest, but me interviewer was extremely pleasant and we connected well. He asked me a few mandatory questions such as, what's the best way to deal with a difficult customer but keep them engaged etc. He was extremely flexible with my schedule taking into account my student schedule and needed family vacation (4 days). I am yet to get the call about my final interview with GM, so wish me luck! Interview Questions If you had a customer (on the sales floor) who was excited about a product, and another customer who had a problem with it, how would you go about tending to the other customer while helping the troubled one with his/her problem? I Applied Online and the interview consisted of a Phone Interview, a 1:1 Interview, a Drug Test and a Background Check. Sales Associate at Best Buy=Received and Accepted Offer Interviewed Oct 2011 (took 1+ week) I remember filling out my application online for Best Buy on a Saturday. The following Monday I received a phone call from them asking if I could come in for a 1:1 interview on Tuesday which I gladly accepted. I must note for not having much retail experience this was the best interview I had ever had. My interviewer revealed that they were very pleased with my application and my results from the personality test. I was asked some very basic questions and he did an excellent job of making me feel comfortable in a short period of 30 minutes. My interviewer thanked me and informed me that I would be contacted by the general manager within a 5 days if they'd like to interview me a second time. I was called back the very next day and was scheduled for my second interview that Thursday. My second interview was very short simple. I was basically givien all proper information for the required drug test which had to be taken no later than 2 days. After my drug test was taken that following Saturday i received a call on Tuesday telling me that I had passed and Orientation would be on Thursday. Interview Questions Tell me about a time where a customer upset you and how did you deal with it? Sales Associate at Best Buy- Posted Mar 23, 2012-Received and Accepted Offer Interviewed Sep 2011 in Naples, FL (took a day) Well, lets start off saying they only hire you as seasonal first, then you can prove yourself to be able to stay. I applied online and went in to speak with the manager, they pulled my application immediately. Then they set up a date maybe a couple days further for a interview. 1:1 Interview was okay and not hard at all, but you cannot be nervous to sell right on the spot. After the interview which takes 2 minutes you get invited to the orientation with a group. You stay there for 8 hours watching video and acting selling and playing fun games. Alot of online classes to take before you start selling on the floor. Interview Questions Name a time where a customer was angry and you solved it. Sales Associate at Best Buy- Posted Mar 17, 2012-Interviewed and No Offer Interviewed Jan 2012 in Lynnwood, WA (took 2 weeks) I applied at night and then they called me the next day and it was a short phone interview. The lady asked me why I wanted to work at Best Buy and general questions like that. I guess she liked my answers because then I scheduled a 1:1 interview 3 days later. Had that interview with the assistant manager and then he liked me so we scheduled another 1:1 interview with the manager of that store which was 2 days later. I had my interview with her and then she said she would call me next week to tell me whether I got the job or not. I got the call and she told me that I didn't get the job because there were more qualified people but the interviews went great and they were all really kind. I think they do. I don't remember if it said 16 or 17. Go under their career section online. Start off as if you're applying and it'll have a list of all the positions and I think its cashier or team member, under requirements, it'll say that you need to be atleast 16 or 17 years old? 	How do I get a job with Dodgy work history and no experience? Basically- no degree, although I have tried completing one in the past and stopped because of physical and mental health issues which were overwhelming to deal with along with going to classes full time. I'm not stupid and I am quite articulate. I am 23 and have only worked for about two years retail in high school and stopped working to go to university. I worked a few months in 2010 retail after I dropped out but it was only a seasonal position, and the only reason why I have not been able to constantly work is because of mental health issues. I had also tried going back to community college during my free time since i left university in 2008/9 and I had panic attacks while in community college, which made my anxiety worse from then on. Well recently I met a good doctor and he prescribed me some meds that are stabilizing my moods and I feel the best I've felt in years, and I'm ready to work. Thing is, I don't know how to get a job now since I've spent literally years being depressed and anxious doing nothing. I don't really have anything to put on my resume, and I never finished my AA degree either. All I've done is cashiering and although I do the job well and I get promoted easily when I do these jobs because I'm a hard worker and I try to go above and beyond what they ask of me,which is the attitude I have no matter what kind of work I'm doing as long as I'm getting paid. But I hate cashiering because it's too easy and I want a job that is more interesting. Any suggestions for me on how to get a job that is NOT Retail with the type of background I have right now? 	What to wear to a job interview VS a career fair? So I have a nice white button up shirt, business skirt and pants, and a suit jacket. I'm applying for a software development job and I'm very short and can look young so I'm trying to look adult, yet professional. I'm also attractive so I'm trying not to look too sexy.
