What would happen if all those factories in China closed down and moved to Mexico?
Would Mexico eventually become a wealthy nation with billions to invest in infrastructure as China has? Would the average standard of living increase for Mexicans due to all the good paying factory jobs? Would all the good things happening in Mexico reduce the desire for illegal immigration into the USA?

It already is happening. Unemployment in Mexico is half what ours is and their GDP is twice ours.

There is too much corruption in Mexico for it to ever become wealthy . Just as corruption is on the rise in the US , and we will pay the price .

If Mexico got all the legitimate industry, the drug trade would be forced to move to China, then the price of illicit drugs would skyrocket due to shipping costs.

Interesting question....maybe they would have a problem with Americans immigrating there. But the high paying jobs you speak of would not come to fruition....they aren't that way in China....that's why the factories are there.
