Can defaulting on your child support really take your drivers license away?

My brother has been out of work for 9 months and just got a new job. Child support services is threatening to take away his drivers license if he does not contact the office "to avoid this action." He doesn't seem to be taking it seriously either. Will they really do this, and what will he need to do to avoid this?

Yea they will and in most states, if not all, send him to prison too. He should take it seriously or he will regret it.

yes. What he COULD HAVE done was get the support order modified while he was unemployed. Because he did not do that, he violated the order and al he can do is to work out and keep a repayment plan.

That depends on what state has jurisdiction. Some will put a person in jail also.
