Pros and cons of north and south?

My husband and our three kids (under 5) are moving to the Boston area in mid-February for his job. I've lived in Revere and Chelsea and East Boston before, but I was too young to really remember much of the area. We're considering either the North End or Southie. Can you give pros and cons of both

You should check ut the schools and then figure out where you want to be. Many inner city public schools ar not good and then you will be paying for private schools. Check out Arlington, great town, great schools, close to Boston. Most important: Safe.
