I cant work because of too much pain?

I work for Best Buy. And I am the only female in the warehouse. My job SOP requires that I lift lbs.Which hasn't been an issue for the last six yrs. I am constantly being challenged to lift 200lbs+ on my own (stacked appliances, refrigerators etc). I started getting alot of pain and was diagnosed with degenerative arthritis from a repeating injury. My doctor told me to get a new job. But I am in so pain it effects me all the time, and now I cant do my job! I am 31 and averagely fit. I just want the pain to stop. What are my rights? and what can I do? My manager said I might not be able to keep my job. Any advice would be appreciated.

Honestly, get another job. You only have one back and it goes quickly. The pain is your bodies way of telling you its time to stop. You can take medical leave, but they also have a right to get someone for your position. It sucks but believe me, no job is worth becoming an invalid :(
